I am a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, licensed by the State of California (MFC45197). I am also a member of the California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists (CAMFT) and the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapists (AAMFT). I am a certified mental Health provider to the American Red Cross as a part of their disaster response teams.
My professional training includes a Master's Degree in Counseling Psychology from Antioch University in Los Angeles, California. I have been in private practice since 2007.
In addition to my Master's Degree, I am certified in Somatic Experiencing®. Somatic Experiencing® is a gentle, yet powerful method designed to release overwhelming stress and its resulting symptoms from the body. Prior to becoming a Marriage and Family Therapist, I have had extensive experience working in the public sector and in an educational environment. I have lived with the pressures and demands of the corporate world and know first hand the stress it can produce in our lives, relationships and physical bodies. As a result of my own journey toward growth, I made a choice to change careers mid-life and become a therapist.
I believe that everyone has the capacity to connect to his or her authentic self and learn one's own internal process. I recognize that each one of us is the expert of who we each are. As a psychotherapist, I am honored to walk this path with clients who seek counseling to change and grow to enjoy their life on a deeper level. I believe that life experiences are reflected not only in our thoughts and emotions but are stored in the body on a deep physical level. I offer a holistic therapeutic approach integrating body, mind and spirit in my practice. My style is compassionate, engaging, and mindful. My aim is to provide support within a safe environment as a foundation for the work. Learn more about my therapeutic approach on The Social Network for Wellness.
